SURFACE CHARACTER
NQ62PW-WS is a linear relief surface conceived to operate through rhythm, depth, and shadow rather than pattern.
The field is composed of horizontally oriented ceramic elements with softly rounded profiles. Tonal variation remains restrained within a stone-based spectrum, allowing surface modulation and relief to carry the visual weight rather than colour contrast.
The image demonstrates:
• controlled irregularity in length and profile
• subtle shifts in tonal density along each unit
• natural registration variance between rows
• a tactile, sedimentary reading across the field
These qualities are inherent to the process and are held deliberately, not corrected.
⸻
INSTALLATION INTENT
This surface is curated, not aligned.
Installation references supplied by the studio establish:
• orientation logic
• rhythm and stagger tolerance
• tonal flow across the field
They are not diagrams to be mechanically repeated. Final installation relies on informed on-site judgement to preserve continuity, depth, and balance.
Rigid alignment or forced uniformity will diminish the intended surface reading.
⸻
MATERIAL NOTE
You will receive the same or a closely related stone blend to that shown.
Exact repetition is neither possible nor intended.
Wabi-Sabi editions may be custom-developed upon request, subject to studio review and project scale.
⸻
AVAILABILITY
OTR (Off-the-Rack):
Availability is governed by the lowest-quantity unit within the system.
Commissioned Production:
Bespoke and project-specific production is available, including calibrated blending, extended runs, and system integration with related linear elements.

CURATION & VARIATION — WABI-SABI EDITION
This surface forms part of the Wabi-Sabi Edition, where variation is treated as a compositional asset.
Visible characteristics may include:
• gentle dimensional variance along length and profile
• tonal drift within a narrow stone spectrum
• soft deformation and minor bowing
• irregular registration and grout articulation
Occasional minor body cracking may be present. When included, these characteristics are visible in reference imagery and are integral to the surface identity — not defects.
Each installation is therefore singular, materially honest, and non-repeatable.
⸻
LIGHT & SHADOW
Relief depth and profile curvature generate a dynamic relationship with light.
As light conditions shift, shadow lines deepen and soften across the horizontal field, activating the surface without visual noise. The surface remains calm at distance and richly tactile at proximity.
