Short Description
A handcrafted ceramic surface composed of softly variegated square modules finished in blush rose, mineral ivory and warm stone tones. Subtle tonal transitions, atmospheric colour movement and handcrafted variation create a calm architectural field that balances softness, warmth and material depth.

Product Description
Blush Mineral Field (XZLXE9-WS) is a handcrafted ceramic surface designed by Gillian Greer and produced by the VLVLK Team.
Constructed from square ceramic modules, the surface establishes a calm and ordered field through repetition, proportion and subtle variation. Soft blush tones drift across the installation, blending pale rose, mineral ivory, warm limestone and muted stone hues into a cohesive atmospheric composition.
The field is intentionally quiet. Variations emerge gradually through hand-applied surface processes, tonal drift and natural ceramic behaviour rather than strong patterning or graphic contrast. At close range, individual modules reveal nuanced differences in colour density, mineral expression and surface character. At architectural scale, the installation reads as a unified field of colour, light and texture.
The resulting surface evokes weathered plaster, mineral pigments, pale stone, blush clay and softened natural light, producing an atmosphere that feels calm, elegant and materially rich.
Suitable for residential, hospitality and commercial environments including walls, floors, wet areas, ponds and pools.

Installation
This surface has been curated to honour the individuality of each piece.
Please refer to the installation images provided to guide orientation, tonal distribution and overall composition. These reference layouts communicate the intended balance of order, variation and material expression developed by the studio.

Product Note
You will receive the same or a closely related blend to the images shown.
As part of the Wabi-Sabi Edition, each production batch retains controlled variation and may be further customised through bespoke colour, blend and field curation upon request.

Visualisation Note
Project visualisations may include digitally generated environments used to explore spatial possibilities.
While the surrounding setting may be conceptual, the ceramic surface itself is an authentic VLVLK material system designed and produced within our studio.
These visualisations are intended to assist with understanding potential interactions between material, light and architecture. They should be interpreted as exploratory studies rather than fixed installation specifications.
Final outcomes are influenced by project-specific curation, layout decisions, lighting conditions and installation context.
⸻
Wabi-Sabi Edition
This surface belongs to the VLVLK Wabi-Sabi Edition.
The edition embraces controlled variation as an essential component of ceramic authorship. Rather than pursuing industrial uniformity, it celebrates the nuanced differences that emerge through material behaviour, glazing and firing.
Pieces may exhibit:
• Tonal variation
• Surface movement and glaze drift
• Crazing patterns
• Subtle dimensional variation
• Minor bowing or deformation
• Irregular shade transitions
• Authored variation across the field
These characteristics contribute to the visual depth, individuality and architectural presence of the installed surface.
⸻
Light & Shadow
The interaction between glaze, texture and changing light conditions forms an important part of the field experience.
Natural and artificial light reveal different aspects of the surface throughout the day, enhancing tonal depth, material richness and spatial atmosphere. As illumination changes, the field continues to evolve, rewarding both close inspection and architectural-scale viewing.
⸻
Controlled Variability
Each piece is individually influenced by clay body, glaze application and firing behaviour. Variations in tone, density, surface character and material response are expected and form part of the intended field condition.
These variations should be interpreted as authored characteristics of the work rather than manufacturing defects.
