CURATION NOTES:
This ceramic surface features a polygonal design, composed of hexagonal tiles. Each hexagon has two longer, equally sized sides and four shorter, equally sized sides. The tiles are meticulously hand-dipped in a range of metallic glazes, yielding a contemporary appearance characterized by a luxurious gloss. The glazes transition from rich golden bronze to elegant steely pewter hues, creating a striking visual effect.
Note: This surface is a Wabi-Sabi edition: Wabi-sabi is the view or thought of finding beauty in every aspect of imperfection in nature. It is about the aesthetic of things in existence, that is “imperfect”.
Wabi-Sabi embraces the inherent defects & characteristics like cracks, bowing and lateral deformation, size and colour differences, and irregular grout lines. Texture plays with the light and shadows resulting in a harmonious installation.
